The Better Bad Food Choice!!

I am a big fan of the meat and potato dinners! I have a hard time getting a low calorie count with this type of meal. I’m gonna keep the steak in there cause there really is no substitute in my mind for steak, and I have it so rarely that it’s not going to be that big of a deal.

So how else would I be able to lose a few calories without sacrificing my pleasure? Since the steak is staying, not much I can do there, so I’ve got to look at the potato! Now, if you are like most of us the potato isn’t just going to be a potato. Its gonna be topped with butter, sour cream, bacon, chives, cheese, etc…

I was heading down the aisle of a safeway thinking to myself, what can I do to make this meal taste good and minus a few calories from it. Thats when I saw it, Lucerne makes a cottage cheese with chives combo which would be a great substitute for the sour cream and the cheese!!! By doing this I will dramatically reduce my saturated fat intake and add more protein to my diet. Just another way to keep what you love and lose some extra pounds!!!

This is a great idea - sour cream is definitely a hard one to cut out of the potato food chain for me, but I’ll give this a shot

I use cottage cheese in place of sour cream and regular cheese all the time. I am excited about the new flavor! Sounds yummy!

the perfect steak…Steak Chez P-C
coat both side of steak with sea salt
cook one minute each side in cast iron skillet at high heat
dip hot side into Sake then cool side then transfer cool side down back to pan
cook both sides one minute
dip hot side into soy sauce then cool side then transfer cool side down back to pan
cook both sides one minute…results in a rare to medium rare steak lover delight…no steak sauce required.
